COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A Midlands man believes his $1 million Powerball win was divine intervention, said SC Lottery officials. “I said a prayer,” he told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. He played his Powerball numbers at the Best Stop on Bush River Road in Columbia.
Winning the six-figure jackpot meant beating odds of 1-in-11,688,054.
The $100,000 winning Powerball game was sold at Youngs gas station/convenience store, according to the release. That’s at 301 East Charlotte Ave. in Sumter. The winning numbers in the Jan. 12 Powerball drawing were 5, 27, 45, 56, 59 and Powerball: 4.
The man played his numbers on a Powerball ticket purchased at the Best Stop on Bush River Road in Columbia. His numbers matched the first five white ball numbers drawn on November 26 (7 - 8 - 15 - 19 - 28 and PB 3) to win the $1 million prize.
