A middle-aged man has died after being hit by a car on the B1 Western Bypass this afternoon. Police say the victim was crossing the road when he was struck by a vehicle. Detective Warrant Officer Haikera said the vehicle was driven by a 31-year-old woman who was alone at the time of the incident. The pedestrian died at the scene.
